Windies women to play 66 matches from 2022-2025

The West Indies women’s cricket team will play 66 home and away international matches during the inaugural ICC Women’s Futures Tournament (FTP) program for 2022-2025.

West Indies Women will begin with a home series against New Zealand Women in Antigua in September, before taking on England Women in December 2022.

The regional women’s team will also play Bangladesh and Ireland in ODI series at home for the first time.

West Indies Women’s four away series will be against India, Australia, Pakistan and Sri Lanka during the period 2022-2025.

In 2023, the West Indies will be involved in a tri-series in South Africa, which also includes India in the build-up to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

The West Indies women’s team will be involved in the ICC Women’s Championship (IWC), where they will play eight series, four at home and four away.

The top five teams in the IWC will automatically qualify for the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup.

“The first FTP issued by the ICC reflects the growing importance of Women’s Cricket and will be an incentive for continued investment by Cricket West Indies (CWI) in the women’s game,” said Jimmy Adams, CWI’s Director of Cricket .

“The CWI has greatly increased investment in the women’s game in recent years and the aim throughout this upcoming FTP cycle is to increase the levels of consistency from our Women across all formats, both bilateral series and world events,” added Adams.
