The Royal Cayman Islands Police (RCIPS) reported that shortly before 2:00 a.m. today, October 4, officers responded to a serious one-vehicle crash on Shamrock Road, near Impulse Close, involving a Honda Integra Red.
According to RCIPS, the Honda was traveling westbound when it left the road and struck a utility pole.
Emergency services attended the scene and the sole occupant was extricated from the vehicle by Fire Service officers and transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital by ambulance. She remains in hospital in critical condition.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Road and Traffic Police Unit. The road in the area was partially closed for a period of time but has since been fully reopened.
