Waterloo Region, Ontario – Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s General Investigations Unit are investigating after two people were stabbed in Waterloo.
On October 23, 2022, in the early morning hours, emergency services responded to reports of two people suffering from stab wounds.
Around 1:15 a.m., police were called after a physical fight between two men resulted in a 39-year-old man being stabbed.
Around 1:55 a.m., police received another report of a physical fight between two males. As a result, a 32-year-old man received a knife wound.
The victims were transported to hospital by Waterloo Region Paramedic Services with non-life threatening injuries.
Through investigations, the police found the male suspect in the area.
A 27-year-old man from Waterloo was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Two counts of aggravated assault
- Two counts of assault with a weapon
- Assault with intent to resist arrest
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes
- Failure to comply with a release order
- Two counts of possession of a weapon in violation of a restraining order
The man was taken into police custody for a bail hearing.
