Waterloo Region, Ontario – On October 8, 2022, at approximately 7:45 a.m., emergency services responded to reports of a car fire at a business in the area of Victoria Street North and Natchez Road in Kitchener.
The Kitchener Fire Department attended and extinguished the fire. The suspect left the area and no physical injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
Through investigation, it was determined that the same suspect had attended a separate business at approximately 4:15 a.m., also in the area of Victoria Street North and Natchez Road.
The suspect allegedly set fire to a mattress and fled the area. The Kitchener Fire Department attended and extinguished the fire. No physical injuries were reported from this incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old Kitchener man was arrested and charged with the following:
- Break, enter and commit arson
- Arson – Damage to property
The accused has been kept in police custody for a bail hearing.
