WRPS Make Arrest after Reports of Two Early Morning Fires in Kitchener

Waterloo Region, Ontario – On October 8, 2022, at approximately 7:45 a.m., emergency services responded to reports of a car fire at a business in the area of ​​Victoria Street North and Natchez Road in Kitchener.

The Kitchener Fire Department attended and extinguished the fire. The suspect left the area and no physical injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

Through investigation, it was determined that the same suspect had attended a separate business at approximately 4:15 a.m., also in the area of ​​Victoria Street North and Natchez Road.

The suspect allegedly set fire to a mattress and fled the area. The Kitchener Fire Department attended and extinguished the fire. No physical injuries were reported from this incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old Kitchener man was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Break, enter and commit arson
  • Arson – Damage to property

The accused has been kept in police custody for a bail hearing.
