Ethereum Tipping is up and running on Twitter, and here’s how it works.
Twitter has added a new option to its tip feature that allows you to give or receive tips in Ethereum cryptocurrency by adding your Ethereum wallet address.
This makes it the second supported cryptocurrency tipping option on Twitter after Bitcoin. Other newly added tipping options include Pay, Barter by Flutterwave and Paytm.
With multiple tipping options, it’s even easier to tip or tip on Twitter. So, for example, when you see a great piece of art or useful content, you can easily tip the creator on Ethereum.
How Tipping with Ethereum works on Twitter
A money icon will be visible on the profile page of Twitter users who have enabled Tips. If you use an Android device, you can also see the Tips icon on people’s profiles while in Twitter Spaces.
Using your Android or iOS device, tap the Tips icon. You will be redirected from Twitter to the person’s preferred third-party payment service where you can send a tip.
Provided the recipient has set Ethereum as their primary tipping option, you can tip them in Ethereum using the displayed wallet address. Transactions are handled by payment processors who may charge a fee, while Twitter doesn’t charge you anything.
How to set Ethereum as your payment method
If you have Tips set up on your Twitter profile, other users can tip you in Ethereum by simply tapping the Tips icon. Here’s how to set up Ethereum tipping.
- Open the Twitter app on your Android or iOS device.
- Tap on your profile (tap your name or above profile), then tap Edit profile.
- Scroll up and tap Advicewhich is disabled by default.
- Turn on Allow advice change to allow people to send you money directly through your tip jar.
- touch Ethereum addressenter your Ethereum address in the space provided and tap Save when it is done.
Now you can start getting Ethereum Twitter Tips. Note that some personal information may be shown to the public according to the terms and conditions of your preferred payment platform.
